Hope you are doing well !
I just came back from my mom's house. My brother (who is an Elder ) was telling us how he is attending the Elder School in New York next week. He mentioned how much it cost to buy airfare, hotel and car rental. He went on to tell a story about the year he went to stay at the house of an Elder, Michele Sinapi , while in Montreal.
Wow! That was weird! Before I left to go to my moms I saw your post.
I remember that he was our Circuit Overseer close to 20 years ago. (As you know, I'm from the Midwest area)
As far as I remember, Michele Sinapi had a wife named Josephine and had twins. My brother knows him well . He told me today that he still lives in Montreal and needs someone to help him walk. He suffers from a neurological disorder.

To all my congregation Elders :
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthank you for coming to my house so often because you were so concerned about me missing so many meetings.. ( actually, the only time you visited was when the circuit and district overseers were in town.
you really showed them how concerned you were about your sheep.

The fact of the matter is that we THOUGHT they would be missing us and thus would hound us in an attempt to get us back. BUT................the fact is: they didn't. No calls. No visits. Nadda.
That was my point! They pretend that they care on the outside but have no true love for the spiritually weak and members who don't pull their weight. The spiritually weak are a burden. They don't want them around since they would infect the congregation.
I didn't need Elders visiting me since their whole objective is to have members who tremble and shake when they walk around and have ass kissers who want to make Ministerial Servants and future Elders. They don't want my kind who no longer answer at the meetings, go out in service, miss meetings and are fence sitters. I never found an Elder who really cared about me at the meetings but showed his love when the Circuit and District Overseers showed up at my door. Go away! I had an Elder tell me how much he loved me at these visits but would never shake my hand or pretended he was busy and walked around like he never saw me.The Watchtower Society is more interested in new members who are zealous and on fire to preach and hand out books and magazines. Every time I see Witnesses walk the streets in field service I always say to myself, '' There are your new replacements. They are zealous like you were when you first started. They are doing the same job you just quit. And when these new members get tired out, there will be new members to follow. The Watchtower Society only needed me to find new members to replace those who died, dropped out and quit doing the dirty work of recruiting. "

Thank you for coming to my house so often because you were so concerned about me missing so many meetings.
( Actually, the only time you visited was when the Circuit and District Overseers were in town. You really showed them how concerned you were about your sheep. I now know that it is more of a duty than a concern.)
Thank you for taking me off the sound and microphone duties.
( I did miss some meetings due to work but that wasn't nice since I was a baptised member. My, it's amazing how you punish members if you don't follow company policy.)
Thank you for not giving me a Blood Card Directive and the "Proclaimers " book.
( I know I was starting to miss some meetings and stopped field service but that was pretty petty of you to do that since I was a baptised member. It really hurt my feelings when I was told that the "Proclaimers" book was only for those that were regular in field service. The book was just a sugar coated history of the WTBTS anyway.)
Thank you for avoiding me as much as possible at meetings and assemblies.
( It didn't feel good when you shook hands with everyone but looked the other way or looked busy when I was walking around.)
Thank you for telling me that since I was "inactive' in field service that I would not make it when Armageddon came.
( I tried looking up the scripture where it says that but I couldn't find it. )
Thank you for not inviting me to any of the congregation events and parties you planned every year.
( I guess you were worried that I would be a bad influence on the congregation members. )

There appears to be a somewhat large percentage of the human race that needs to create drama all the time. It's like breathing to them--second nature. Drama hounds. Need to create conflict, gossip, find fault, manipulate, etc. Waste more damn time doing all that crap than they do just working.
I own a small landscape company. People complain about the smallest things.
Why is the lawn yellow? ...............................Well...it's 90 degrees out and hasn't rained in three months.
Why aren't you here at the same time every week?................ If it rains, I get backed up and it changes my schedule.
Why can't you do my job today or tomorrow?.................... You are not the only customer I have.
Why isn't my grass green after I paid for fertilizer? .................It takes 2 weeks or more with lots of water to green up.
I'm a senior citizen, why don't you give me a discount?........... Why should I? The cost and labor is the same if you were 25 or 85 years old.
Why is your company so small? .....................................It allows me to serve you better and control costs. If you want, hire the larger outfit and pay more for the same service.
Someone gave me a cheaper price for the same job. .....................Why don't you hire them if the price is cheaper? Most of the customers lie about receiving another estimate.
Customers that complain about nothing are the worst. I try to bend over backwards for them but after a while they tire me out and I cancel the service.
These customers are the same ones who when given an invoice pay you two months later.

Just think of the millions of married couples who divorce after so many years together. Just think of all the years you wasted at jobs you didn't like and now you find one you like. Just think of the many years spent with friends and then you no longer speak to each other or hang out.
The Watchtower life is the same. Things change and what was important in your life then is no longer important now. Try not to think of all the hours spent in book studies, field service, assemblies, Kingdom Hall meetings, personal study and Bible studies. It will drive you insane if you had the count the hours that you spent working for the WTBTS. They are nothing but slave drivers. If it ain't you slaving for them, they will find a new one.
My uncle was an Elder for close to 50 years and died with no '' paradise '' anywhere in sight. Who knows how he felt at the end of his life after dedicating all his life slaving for the WTBTS?

It would have been nice to hear who his parents were, how many brothers and sisters he had, what kind of employment he had throughout his whole life, where he lived and moved to and anything else to make him stand out and show that he was an individual and not just a church member.

w77 6/1 pp. 346-347 Mourning and Funerals—For Whom? ***
A FUNERAL OR MEMORIAL SERVICE?
Some have thought that a funeral is for the purpose of eulogizing the deceased, for the purpose of speaking well of such a one and giving him what is known as a "good death." But is this correct? Remember that Jehovah God permitted the nation of Israel to weep over Nadab and Abihu, the two sons of Aaron who perished because they offered illegitimate fire—although their immediate family was forbidden to mourn them.—Lev. 10:1-7.
.....As a rule death causes mourning. In particular, it is comforting to hear a discussion on Jehovah’s marvelous attributes, especially his great love in providing his Son as a ransom so that mankind can have the hope of everlasting life. Aside from personal expressions that they may feel impelled to make, those in attendance bring comfort to the bereaved by their very presence.
There is also the matter of giving a witness to Bible truths.Usually a funeral is attended by neighbors, acquaintances, business associates and relatives, who may not be believers. All these stand to benefit from a funeral or memorial service at which a discourse is given presenting the Bible view as to the condition of the dead, why men die and the hope of a resurrection. Because of such fine purposes being served, it seems that a Christian minister could see his way clear to conduct the funeral of a Witness’ unbelieving relative—or even of one who, in a condition of extreme despondency or mental derangement, had taken his own life. And fellow Christians could extend comfort to the bereaved Witness by attending.
And further, when a service is held for a deceased faithful servant of Jehovah God, the occasion could well be used to note that one’s integrity-keeping course in spite of all manner of obstacles. (2 Sam. 1:26) True, as Mark Anthony said in his famed funeral oration: "I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him."
I haven't been to any meetings in over 3 years. I will no longer go inside a Kingdom Hall for any weddings or attend funeral talks. They only benefit the WTBTS as an "infomercial'' to recruit new members.
My wife and I attended a funeral Saturday for a wonderful friend of my family . His family and my family have been friends for over 40 years. He was a wonderful family man and was respected by all members of the congregation.
The family of the deceased decided to have a funeral talk at his one day wake since he was going to be cremated the next day. The funeral talk was for 7: 30 p.m. I had no choice but to stay and listen since we arrived around 7:00 p.m. to pay our condolences to the family.
The funeral talk started off with where he was born, how he met his wife and what year they married, names of his children, and what year he was baptised. That ran for about 5 minutes. The last 25 minutes were about how he become a Jehovah's Witness, what his favorite scriptures were, how he served as an Elder and how all his children were Jehovah's Witnesses.
They did not euligize the deceased. They used it as an '' infomercial " for the benefit of the WTBTS. Shame on them for using this sad occasion for the benefit of recruiting. Anyone there in attendance that wasn't a Jehovah's Witness should shudder at what came from this awful and shameful talk.

The Reason Why JWs Won't Leave The Cult Is Because They Won't Think:
think it's the truth : after being told numerous times it's the ''truth'', you start believing it
family : families tell other family members
lazy : just like a bird doesn't want to leave its nest, Jehovah's Witnesses like to stay where they feel comfortable
first religion : born into the religion, why leave when that's all you know
why leave : the WTBTS may be right
it's a club : just like a bowling club or playing cards, you meet people that have the same interest
fear : where will i go to now and family will no longer associate with me if i leave
going through the motions : been a Witness so long you sleep walk after every meeting and field service
too young to leave
have privilages that are hard to leave
